Fleet Mechanic

Summary:

To diagnose and perform repairs on a variety of fleet equipment (semis, trailers, and vehicles), inspections and preventative maintenance of company equipment in a safe, timely and cost efficient manner while meeting company and DOT requirements. Pay Range: $25.00 – 35.00/ hr. The pay rate is subject to experience and qualifications. Benefits: 401(k) - 401(k) matching - Dental insurance - Health insurance - Paid time off. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate repair orders, repair history and shop records
• Perform scheduled repairs and customization work as assigned
• Perform routine maintenance per Standard Operating Procedures
• Diagnose and repair issues with diesel engines, after treatment exhaust systems, hydraulics, transmissions, steering components, air conditioning and other components
• Test and troubleshoot abs, electrical, lighting systems
• Monitor and perform hub, axle and brake component replacement/ repair, tire replacement/ repair, suspension repair and air component troubleshooting and repair, and trailer body repair.
• Perform minor welding or fabrication on equipment as necessary
• Follow safety policies
• Assist with other duties as assigned
• Maintain a clean work and shop area

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to read and write
• Good organizational abilities
• Strong mechanical knowledge and problem solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Manual dexterity, experience with hand tools, and physical strength
• Operate semi within facility to move trailer
• Work with computers to diagnose, complete and document repairs
• Must be able to work on multiple assets and other techs to manage work flow

Credentials and Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• 2 years of related work experience
